NURİYE
Adım Nuriye, 29 yaşında dul ve çocuksuz bir kadınım. Şu anda Nikişen (Nikisiani) yakınlarında bulunan Zdravik (Draviskos) köyüne komşu Goriani’de Canavar Hacımehmet olarak bilinen babamın evinde oturmaktayım. Yarın Pravişta’ya, oradaki despota vaftiz olmak istediğimi söylemeye gideceğim. Ona ninemin aslen Zilyahovo yöresinden (Nea Zichni) Zihnalı olduğunu, vaktinde zorla islamlaştırıldığını anlatacağım. Ona damarlarımda Hristiyan kanı aktığını söyleyeceğim. Ben küçüklüğümden beri Helenleri ve hristiyanlığı kalpten severdim. Bu sebepten hemşehrilerimi hiç bırakmadım. Beni hem korkutmuş hem de yalvarmış da olsalar mübâdillerin peşine takılıp Türkiye’ye gitmeyip burada kalarak hayatımı riske attım. Burası benim vatanım, ilk nefesimi aldığım, yaşamak istediğim yer.”

İsmim Esma, Kavala’da doğdum ve hâlen burada yaşamaktayım. Kocam iki sene evvel vefât etti. Kendisi âniden hastalanıp ölünce iki kız çocuğumla kalakaldım. Sonra, iyi bir adamla tanıştım, kendisi Hristiyan Adanalı bir Rum mülteci. Benimle ve de çocuklarımla çok ilgilendi ve bizi kendisiyle beraber Lefter (Eleftheres) yakınlarındaki Nuzla’ya (Ofrinio) götürdü. Şimdi o adamdan bir kızım var ve şu anda da gebeyim. Şimdi bize “gidin” diyorlar çünkü “mübâdele” yani nüfus değiş-tokuşu varmış ve biz Müslümanların Türkiye’ye gitmesi gerekiyormuş, kendimi keserim daha iyi. Yarın, kocamla berâber yaşayabilmek ve burada kalabilmek için despota gidip vaftiz talebinde bulunacağım.





Nuriye’nin davası 24 Haziran 1924 günü Eleftheroupoli metropolünden Komotini’de bulunan müftülüğe yollandı ancak âkıbeti bilinmiyor.

Esma’dan ise 1928 târihli bir belgede bahsedilmiş nitekim kendisi Yunanistan’da kalmış. Nuriye ve Esma’nın şâhitlikleri Eleftheroupoli metropolünün arşivlerinde bulunmuştur. (Devlet Genel Arşivleri, Kavala Defteri, Mukaddes Eleftheroupoli metropolü Arşivleri 1907-1956, Müslüman davaları 1923-28) Bu belgeler aynı zamanda devlet genel arşivlerinin desteğiyle Kavala Küçük Asyalılar derneği ve Kavala musiki okulunun berâber düzenlediği “Mübâdele Lâneti” isimli oyunda da kullanılmıştır.

1923-25 arasında bir kısım Müslümanın mübâdeleye tepki gösterdiklerini, Yunanistan’nda kalmak, yaşamak ve ölmek için eylemler ve yürüyüşler düzenlediklerini söylemek elzemdir. İtirazlarına Pravişta’ya yeni iskân edilmiş Küçük Asyalı Rum mülteciler de hak vermekteydi.
